San Luis Obispo is alive in the fall, and November is no exception. For both
visitors and locals alike,
there's plenty of opportunity to discover the fall highlights of the Central
Coast this November.
Entertainment: For the latest in local entertainment, visit our online
calendar to get a sample of some of the events that
are happening this November. The San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center is our big-city concert hall tucked into the Cal Poly campus. Be sure to catch world pop phenomenon Angelique
Kidjo who comes
to the Performing Arts Center on November 4. For those that are interested
in a taste of Broadway, the
acclaimed musical Smokey Joe's Cafe will be here on November 21.
And of course, for the younger crowd there is the bar scene. Both Mother's
Tavern and Club SLO Brew
will be pumping up the volume for some great performances this month. Don't miss
Tsunami Bomb on November
24 at SLO Brew.
Outdoor Events:
Just because it's cold out doesn't mean there isn't anything to do outdoors.
San Luis Obispo County stays alive
during November with plenty of things to do outside. For starters, there's
always the world famous Thursday Night
Farmer's Market that runs from 6 until 9pm in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Always
fun, you can sample some of the
local edible treats that make the Central Coast so loved by culinary experts.
In addition, there are regularly scheduled guided hikes through
Montana De
Oro State Park that can be a wonderful way to explore the scenic shoreline.
Head up north, past the town of
Cambria
to see our world-famous Elephant Seals!
The pups will be there and getting ready to head back out to sea, so go
take a peak and catch the guided tours.
Lodging: Typically November is the end of the busy tourist season, so there are always
great deals on local hotels. Be sure to view the
virtual tours for Morgan's
Mansions. They are running tons of specials throughout the fall and winter
and offer competitive
rates and some of the newest rooms in San Luis Obispo City. They're close to
Cal Poly
and Downtown
SLO too. And if
Morgan's isn't your fancy, walk right next door - both literally and virtually
- to the historic Apple Farm Inn.
They are currently
offering a 'suite' of Autumn packages that will have you counting more falling
leaves than dollars.
And of course, to be extra sure, please contact the places you plan on visiting,
eating or staying at before hand to ensure
that their itinerary matches ours. Have a great November!
