Tumbleweed Productions announces open auditions for the world premier of Tumbleweed Connection, An Original Musical. Music by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. Book by Christopher Kahn.
At the dawn of the twentieth century two brothers have their destinies forged by an act of vengeance and an unbearable family secret. Their journeys so different, but ultimately entwined, are the driving force of the play Tumbleweed Connection. Their loyalties, loves and spiritual lives are desperately threatened in a crucible of duty, war and betrayal.
Yet, throughout the fabric of this moving, human drama, the music of Elton John provides an uplifting, inspirational melodic element, expressing the emotional range that can only be told in song. His familiar tunes provide the perfect synchronicity that transforms the colorful characters, powerful words and actions into a true twenty-first century folk opera. And the result is magical
Performances are Friday 8:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 pm and Sunday 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, October 19-21, 26-28 and November 2-4, 2007 in Forbes Hall at the Clarke Center, Arroyo Grande.
