And What A Quarter It's Been...
We've been hearing mixed reviews from members of the community regarding business this summer. Hotels in the city say revenue was down, hotels outside say it was up. Some retail stores did well, and restaurants saw a record summer too. All in all, Summer 2004 was a period of solid growth for our company. First and foremost, you may have noticed that we have changed our company name to Virtual Communications, Inc. This doesn't mean we are moving away from VirtualSLO.com, rather we now have opened up the ability to move into more markets and deliver more products to our customers. As far as we're concerned, VirtualSLO.com is here to stay.

Secondly, we added nearly 30 new accounts this summer, a fantastic number that solidifies the success of our business plan. We are also entering into a new phase of our marketing capabilities, by offering our customers more information about their listing and by afiliating our business with other technology and advertising products in the County. More to come on this later...

You may have received by now, or will be receiving, a detailed Quarterly Report from us in the mail that will lay out exactly how your business is performing on our site. If you notice that your hits have been low, we want to stress that the coupons and specials have been a big hit. We have heard from our clients that dozens of coupons are being brought in on a weekly basis. Let us know if we can add a coupon for your business too!

Lastly, a thank you to those businesses that participated in our WOW 2004 giveaway. It was a huge success and we now have a large newsletter database of Cal Poly Students who will no doubt love to see special features and offers listed on VirtualSLO.com.

VirtualSLO.com at WOW 2004
Over 2,000 Cal Poly Freshmen came by our booth on September 14 during the SLO-Bound event for the Week of Welcome (WOW) program at Cal Poly. During this time, we offered the chance for students to earn prizes if they signed up for our MyVSLO service. We have over 200 names on the list now, and the newsletter goes out with this one.

If you are interested in getting your business listed on our monthly "panorama" newsletter, which is sent to over 200+ members, please contactAndrew Rubin.

VirtualSLO.com and SLO County Passport
The County's #1 local and tourist book and the Visual Guide to California's Central Coast have joined forces. Currently in a trial run, clients of VirtualSLO.com and SLO County Passport can co-brand with both companies, with cross-over features designed to give the viewer of that advertisement a more interactive and informative visual tool.

When a business advertises with SLO County Passport and VirtualSLO.com, on their VirtualSLO listing the Passport savings decal will appear. Similarly, if they see the ad in the Passport book first, they will be given a link to the virtual tours online.

The goal here is to provide a bigger coverage for advertisers, while giving customers the opportunity to see more and save more. Any business interested in this opportunity can contact Daniel O'Leary in the Sales Department.

Big Hitters
Here's where we give the best performing businesses for the quarter. All of these businesses share one thing in common: they use their VirtualSLO.com advertisement to its maximum potential. This means putting the link on your website, putting the sticker on your window, letting your customers know of the ad and keeping track of how many people bring in coupons. We are here to help you market your business. If any thing you've just read needs clarification, CALL US! We are here to help.
